Multiple UK statutes govern access to the gas and electricity grid ( Gas Act 1986, the Electricity Act 1989, the Utilities Act 2000, the Competition Act 1998, the Enterprise Act 2002 and the Energy Act 2004, the Energy Act 2008, the Energy Act 2010 and the Gas and Electricity (Internal Markets) Regulations 2011). The administrative process for access is currently via the OFGEM electricity grid access regime with specific DNO related arrangements to facilitate connection and charging / payment arrangements – all part of the UK national regulatory authority framework
